About Us

Region 4 Education Service Center, located in Houston, Texas, creates and delivers print, digital, and face-to-face products and services that are specific to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). The Region 4 Hub serves as a host for all of these researched-based, economically efficient resources developed to assist educators to improve student performance.  Region 4 values excellence in service for children.

Region 4 Mathematics provides TEKS-aligned resources and services for K-12 mathematics educators and leaders. Eleven specialists and their director work collaboratively to develop research-based instructional materials that address the needs of diverse learners. The mathematics team has an average of 21 years of educational expertise derived from varied classroom teaching and leadership experiences, including instructional coaching and campus and district-based positions. Individual certifications and advanced degrees address Early Childhood Education, Gifted and Talented, English as a Second Language, Educational Leadership, and Curriculum and Instruction.

The Region 4 Reading/Language Arts team is comprised of 11 specialists and 1 director with 268 years of collective teaching experience, four Doctorate degrees, and eight Master’s degrees.  Areas of expertise include Literacy Instruction Prekindergarten – 12th Grade, Dyslexia, Educational Leadership, Instructional Design, Bilingual/ESL, Languages Other Than English (LOTE), Assessment, Gift and Talented Education,  Preschool Programs for Children with Disabilities (PPCD), Differentiated Instruction, and Special Education.

Region 4 Science provides Texas-specific solutions for K-12 science educators. Science Solutions is comprised of a Director and 10 education specialists with a combined background of over 180 years of educational experience, 12 Masters degrees, and a Doctorate degree. Specialists hold certifications for all science content areas K-12, with additional expertise in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, Gifted and Talented, Pedagogy, Curriculum and Instruction, as well as English as a Second Language. The Region 4 Social Studies team is comprised of 3 specialists and 1 director with 73 years of collective teaching experience and 4 Master’s degrees.  Areas of expertise include Kindergarten – 12th grade Social Studies Instruction, Educational Technology, Gifted and Talented Education, English as a Second Language (ESL), Educational Leadership, National Board Certification (NBCT), Pedagogy, Curriculum and Instruction, and Differentiated Instruction.
